Samsung Pay function was launched with the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge phones with certificates for Visa and MasterCard in collaboration with various major banks around the world. This service is provided by Samsung KNOX security system that will be excluded if you root your phone. Therefore this means that rooting your phone will disable Samsung Pay service. KNOX function has been around for some time and has already found a way to root Galaxy S5 phone without having to disrupt KNOX detection, but still there is no such method when it comes to Samsung’s new Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge Galaxy phones.
Rooting allows applications to provide additional privileges and access to internal items of the Android, which could endanger the safety of Samsung Pay system. Certainly no one wants to leave the “wallet” so exposed, so that users of Samsung mobile payment system will probably avoid rooting their phone.
