DESIGN: Huawei MediaPad 7 Youth is in many ways an excellent choice for those who are not afraid to buy a device without great sound and names, and thereby save by brand. Huawei company is very famous in China and produces a lot of electronic devices that are very good quality, and cost little money. Huawei MediaPad 7 Youth is trying to break into the western market and prove that the company is worth attention. What attracts attention is a simple design, small size and low weight indicating that this is a device that can be carried in your pocket every day.
SCREEN: The screen has the lowest resolution of all the competition in the market, and is hardly and barely visible in daylight. Also, the screen has no protection from scratches, but it is easily solvable with the help of additional labels for protection. Another drawback is that the device doesn’t have microHDMI output for the management tasks to an external display – such as LCD TVs.
PERFORMANCE: Huawei MediaPad 7 Youth uses the Android operating system 4.1.2 Jelly Bean , and is powered by a quad Cortex A9 processor at 1.2GHz. It has 1GB of RAM and Huawei MediaPad 7 Youth will run more demanding applications without any problem. It supports all standard Wi-Fi networks and 3G mobile network, so in this segment it can be said that Huawei MediaPad 7 Youth meets all the criteria. It has a built-in GPS receiver, 8GB of internal memory for data, and MicroSD memory expansion port for data. The battery is quite good and lasts up to 3h of watching movies at medium settings, and light intensity of the screen.
CAMERA: The camera on the back is 3.15MP and has the ability to record video in 720p resolution. The front camera is VGA resolution, which is quite sufficient for video calls.
CONCLUSION: Very well designed and lightweight tablet, which has a solid battery and can run more demanding applications for lower price than its competition.
